The bible is spoken even by unbelievers unknowingly.Here is a list of some of the things people say and would be surprised to learn their scriptural,you may recognize some of them.

1.)Can a Leopard change his spots? …… “Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil”. (Jeremiah 13:23).

2.)Like a drop of a bucket. ……… “Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance:behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing”.(Isaiah 40:15).

3.)They think their holier than thou. …… “Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day”.(Isaiah 65:5).

4.)What goes around comes around. ……… “For the day of the Lord is near upon all the heathen: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head”.(Obadiah 15).

5.)Their a Pillar of the community. …… “Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God,and he shall go no more out:and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem,which cometh down out of Heaven from my God:and I will write upon him my new name”.(Revelation 3:12).This passage shows a person is a pillar and is misused in our society.

6.)Their a thorn in my side. ……… “Wherefore I also said, I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be as a thorns in your sides,and their gods shall be a snare unto you”.(Judges 2:3).

7.)When one calls someone a dumb ass. ……… “But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man’s voice forbad the madness of the prophet”.(2 Peter 2:16).The story of Balaam and the talking donkey can be found in (Numbers 22:21-35).

8.)People walk all over me,I’m like a doormat. …… “Thus saith thy Lord the Lord,and thy God that pleadeth the cause of his people, Behold, I have taken out of thine hand the cup of trembling,even the dregs of the cup of my fury; thou shalt no more drink it again: But I will put it into the hand of them that afflict thee; which have said to thy soul,Bow down,that we may go over: and thou hast laid thy body as the ground,and as the street, to them that went over”.(Isaiah 51:22,23).

9.)It’s the writing on the wall. ……… “In the same hour came forth fingers of a man’s hand,and wrote over against the candlestick upon the plaster of the wall of the king’s palace: and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote”.(Daniel 5:5).This must have been some great feast that king Belshazzar put on for a thousand of his lords and potent wine to see a hand writing on the wall which troubled him so,which only Daniel could interpret for him.(Daniel 5:1-12).

10.)Well they did it to themselves. ……… “The shew of their countenance doth witness against them;and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves.Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him”.(Isaiah 3:9,11).

So the next time something sounds so familiar,it just might be in the bible and God said it first.I like to use it as a chance to minister to people when they say things like this,especially if they are trying to say God does’nt exist so I tell them it’s not a good idea to use his words if they don’t believe in him.Sometimes they are curious and say that’s not in the bible and at times it’s a turning point for them.
