“Our Miraculous God”

When we look at all the signs and wonders in scriptures we too could add to the stories of what it’s like to serve a God of mighty miracles! Here are a few stories of the miracles only God can do lest we forget his awesome power.

                                                            An Axe Head Floats

We all know the weight of an axe head and there is no way it has the ability to float on top of the water, yet God has the power to do whatever he wants and as written faith can move mountains! “And the sons of the prophets said unto Elisha, Behold now, the place where we dwell with thee is too strait for us. Let us go, we pray thee, unto Jordan, and take thence every man a beam, and let us make us a place there, where we may dwell. And he answered, Go ye. And one said, Be content, I pray thee, and go with thy servants. And he answered, I will go. So he went with them. And when they came to Jordan, they cut down wood. But as one was felling a beam, the axe head fell into the water: and he cried, and said, Alas, master! for it was borrowed. And the man of God said, Where fell it? And he shewed him the place. And he cut down a stick, and cast it in thither; and the iron did swim. Therefore said he, Take it up to thee. And he put out his hand, and took it”.(2 Kings 6:1-7).

The Sun And Moon Stand Still For An Entire Day

Joshua wins the victory over the Amorites when he asks the Lord for help in the day of battle to have the sun and moon stand still which it did for a whole day! “Then spake Joshua to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Aj’-a-lon. And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day. And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the  Lord hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the Lord fought for Israel”.(Joshua 10:12-14).

A Sundial Goes Backwards Instead Of Forward
(A gift of healing from the Lord)

When King Hez-e-ki’-ah was sick and near death he was told as even today when people are near death to get their house in order. But Hez-e-ki’-ah had a strong faith and turned to the Lord and he was heard and given an added fifteen years to his life. He like any of us asked God for a sign that he would be healed and when he was asked by Isaiah would he like the sundial to go forward ten degrees or back ten? and we now read of his answered prayer! “In those days was Hez-e-ki’-ah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live. Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the Lord, saying, I beseech thee, O Lord, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hez-e-ki’-ah wept sore. And Isaiah said, This sign shalt thou have of the Lord, that the Lord will do the thing that he hath spoken: shall the shadow go forward ten degrees, or go back ten degrees? And Hez-e-ki’-ah answered, it is a light thing for the shadow to go down ten degrees: nay, but let the shadow return backward ten degrees. And Isaiah the prophet cried unto the Lord: and he brought the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down in the dial of Ahaz”.(2 Kings 20:1-3,9-11).

How many miracles God performed through Jesus as well, and through faith we too have seen many miracles given by the grace of God. He was kind enough to send us his Son and through that precious life miracles are still in the earth today!
