Christ is our eternal salvation when we obey him which is the whole point of learning we cannot by ourselves claim the victory over our life without Christ being the center of it. It is by the tender mercies shown through our Saviour that we gain peace and understanding he alone can give us! “Shew us thy mercy, O Lord and grant us thy salvation. I will hear what God the Lord will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not return again to folly. Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land. Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other. Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven”.(Psalm 85:7-11).
It is only when our conscious convicts us that we are not living a life that is pleasing to God that it sorrows us to do what is right. God is close to all those of a broken heart and contrite spirit and in his mercy is able to heal. “For Godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a Godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter”.(2 Corinthians 7:10,11).
God the Father had his very own Son here among us in the flesh who cried as we do, and made many prayers as well, and it was through obedience learned he was able to purchase the true salvation we have offered to us today! “Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him”.(Hebrews 5:7-9).
The sooner we learn our salvation comes from the servitude of Christ, our life remains broken in one way or another. God is faithful who promised all he gave us through his Son. And it is through him we receive salvation for our souls! “The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit”.(Psalm34:17,18).
