Oh how bewildered the Prophet Jeremiah was over seeing how the people would rather live in sin and destruction of each other than serve the way of God. The time of salvation had even come and gone and yet the people remained unsaved that upset Jeremiah so. “The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved. For the hurt of the daughter of my people am I hurt; I am black; astonishment hath taken hold on me. Is there no balm in Gil’-e-ad; is there no physician there? why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered? OH that my head were waters, and mine eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!”.(Jeremiah 8:20-22…..9:1).
There is not one tear that goes unnoticed by God the Father who watches over us! in fact he keeps them in a bottle and writes them in his book. But the day will come when all tears will be wiped away along with all pain. “And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there ne any more pain: for the former things are passed away”.(Revelation 21:3,4). “Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?”(Psalm 56:8).
For the woman who is a widow and trusts completely in God she is day and night in prayer of service to the one who now keeps her.. To continue on though after the loss of ones husband and lives without regard for God and takes pleasure with another who is not in the Lord is dead while she lives. “Now she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, trusteth in God, and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day. But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth”.(1 Timothy 5:5,6). The younger widows are accepted if they choose to marry than to stay unmarried and live in sin. “I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully”.(1 Timothy 5:14).
What a blessed hope we have awaiting us in heaven a place where all tears will never fall again! “For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes”.(Revelation 7:17).
