At one time or another we all go through a sorrowful time and question if God loves us so much why does he allow sorrowful times? If we received all we ever asked for we would become haughty and there would be no reason to seek God if we had all heart could wish. Job was surrounded by friends with good advice and even a wife who just told him to curse God and die…..But not Job for he knew that his Father in heaven had a better plan for him even if things seemed bleak! So many great losses Job suffered yet realized we are all born naked and without anything and would one day return to his maker. How many of us could lose everything and have the wisdom of Job to worship God throughout? “Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped, And said, Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord. In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly”.(Job 1:20-22). If we step back and look at our lives all we have is from the hand of God!
We learn through sorrowful times more than through joyous times for it makes us stop and contemplate just what purpose life is for? “Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better. The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning; but the heart of fools is in the house of mirth”.(Ecclesiastes 7:3,4).
Sorrow believe it or not is very needful in the plan of God because if we are sorry without regret of wrongdoing death may ensue, while if we are truly sorry and repentant as knowing we sinned against God then this sorrow is alot of times a turning point in our life! When we are shown mercy by God we are more apt to be more merciful to our fellow man. “For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter”.(2 Corinthians 7:10,11).
As we stand for the name of the one who has called us to do his will, may we not forget our brothers and sisters in Christ who are being persecuted and are in need of our prayer’s. God has not forgotten for one second any one of us in prisons whether it be a literal one or of circumstance! “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much”.(James 5:16). Many have learned of the circumstance of our brother in Christ Saeed here on site at the Voice Of The Persecuted, please understand any family in sorrow needs many prayers, May God see to it that as the government wheels turn God is greater and still works miracles on our behalf!
