“Free From World’s Bondage”

thCAZ8CVN3

Just as the Israelites were freed from the bondage of Egypt, so are we taken from the bondage of sin and of serving false god’s and to never be taken captive again by the power of the flesh! The beautiful way the world presents sin in a pretty package is no match for the Holy Spirit given by a Holy God and we do not return to it’s beggarly elements of empty promises. “Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods. But now, after that ye have known God, or rather ar known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain”.(Galatians 4:7-11).

Christ would have died in vain if we leave the old life we once lived, only to return to it as though repentance has given no redemptive power for us. “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage”.(Galatians 5:1).

When we are born again we find there is true liberty and freedom from bondage in the body of Christ. Those of the world will make you feel as though you are no different, but we know the free from fear Spirit we have been given by promise which has caused us to be the children of God. “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God”.(Romans 8:14-16).

To this day those born of the Spirit are fought against by those who are not, as we read of the two sons of Abraham as one born of bondage and the other born by promise of whose children we are. “For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman. But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise. Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise. But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now. Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman. So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free”.(Galatians 4:22,23,28-31).
