There is so much turmoil going on within the world and as Christians we need to remember the words of our Saviour that we are not of the world, just as he was not of this world. Jesus prayed to the Father to keep us and it is by his grace we are kept. “I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word. Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee. For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me. I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine“.(John 17:6-9).
We have not been left without hope in this world, for Christ bought much with the giving of his life for us! He made many provisions for us. No one likes to be in the midst of turmoil, but just as Christ overcame so do we with the Spirit he promised us. This is not the Spirit of fear. “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind”.(2 Timothy 1:7).
So what if people hate us for standing on the word of God, so did Christ and we are expected as Christians to do the same. Remember this is not a popularity contest, but the chance to be a witness to the truth which we are told the earth will pass away but not the word of God and therein is our stability! (John 15:18).
God our Father in heaven and Christ love us and no matter how large and in charge a people or nation paints itself to be we are overcomer’s by the blood of the Lamb who paid the price at the cross for us. “I, even, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man which shall be made as grass; And forgettest, the Lord thy maker, that hath stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; and hast feared continually every day because of the fury of the oppressor, as if he were ready to destroy? And where is the fury of the oppressor?”(Isaiah 51:12,13).
PEACE I LEAVE WITH YOU, MY PEACE I GIVE UNTO YOU: NOT AS THE WORLD GIVETH, GIVE I UNTO YOU. LET NOT YOUR HEART BE TROUBLED, NEITHER LET IT BE AFRAID.
