There are those who are wicked and become puffed up in pride as they are not plagued as others are, yet they slap God in the face as though he has no knowledge of their evil deeds. “For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. For there are no bands in their death: but their strength is firm. They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men. Therefore pride compasseth them about them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment. And they say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most high?”(Psalm 73:3-6 ,11).
The righteous are plagued for a reason as we know God chastens those he loves. And we should never despise the chastening of the Lord as he is our Father who chastens his children. (Psalm 94:10-14).
There are no coincidences with God and everything truly does happen for a reason. The very first plague written of in scripture is when Phar’-oah (although lied to) about Abram’s wife Sar’-a-i. “And the Lord plagued Phar’-aoh and his house with great plagues because of Sar’-a-i Abram’s wife”.(Genesis 12:17). We see it was not just Phar’-oah, but his house as well. This brings to mind the scripture…… As for me and my house we will serve the Lord!
Many know of the ten plagues that befell Phar’-oah , God to this day has not removed plagues out of the earth. Remember the black plague, and the bird flu plague as well. Plagues are in many ways and not seen just in diseases, but a plague of depression, or one may say I am plagued with many things it seems……when this happens it’s not too late to repent and turn to your heavenly Father as he is a merciful God and things oftentimes will change when we are within his will. (Isaiah 1:18).
We have many translations of the bible today and God sincerely wants us to keep it in the context it was written and meant or man, yet sometimes scriptures are added to or taken away from the word and God does not look kindly on this as he says the following: “For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book”.(Revelation 22:18,19).
As Christians we are told Christ did not follow the worlds ways as his people as well do not, and we are to not be partakers of the worlds sins or plagues will be a part of our world for sure. “And I heard another voice from heaven, saying Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues”.(Revelation 18:4).
