The mindset of man can either set him up for success or for failure. There are those who cling to memories of the past and their forever thinking of what could have been. Then there are people who are always looking towards the future and what could be. Scripture teaches us though we really only have now! (Ecclesiastes 3:15). That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.
The song everything old is new again coincides with what we experience every decade or so, like a fashion comes back and it seems new….. Yet what has already been is just new again at the time, as there is nothing new under the sun. We all at one time or another experience the same or similar situations. (Ecclesiastes 9:11). I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.
We are not promised tomorrow and too many live as though they have forever. I understand many are living in chronic pain and would say how can one find happiness then? Job suffered so much loss with family, health and friends always trying to give advice, but he understood whatever hand he was dealt he would one day live eternally with God the Father. In this day and age of pain medicines Christ hung on a cross for us without anything to dull such a horrible pain and now resides with the Father as well as any one of us who know our suffering is for our glory one day!
God Bless all who are enduring for the day will come when all eyes will be dried of tears and pain will no longer exist!
