” The Field “

The words farmers are America’s bread and butter is so true, because without the land planted we would be in a constant famine. On any level we all are farmers to some extent whether we’re plowing many acres or are on one. Spiritually we tend to the field (earth) for God if we are Christians. (1 Corinthians 3:7-9). So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.

The children in the earth that do Gods will are known as the children of the kingdom and are the good seed we read of in the parable of the sower, while the tares are the children of the wicked one we know as satan. Matthew 13:37-43.

A farmers job is not an easy one but one thing for sure is that any seed that is placed in the ground is dependant upon the rain it gets from above at the hand of God. When God at times uses the rain when chastening the people, though some do not believe this it still holds true! (Amos 4:6-8). And I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and want of bread in all your places: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the Lord. And also I have withholden the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest: and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece whereupon it rained not withered. So two or three cities wandered unto one city, to drink water; but they were not satisfied: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the Lord.

As with any planting the harvest makes it all worthwhile, just as when the final tipping point of all things done here upon earth we need to consider then how we conduct our lives and will be gathered as wheat into a barn or as a tare bound for destruction? The day will come when Christ will tread as though alone the winepress of Gods wrath upon the nation’s to screen out his redeemed. Matthew 9:37-38. (Isaiah 63:3-5). I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment. For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come. And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my fury, it upheld me.
