The wonderful story of the valley of dry bones tells us of the hope of man given through the Holy Spirit of God. Gods Israel will never be without life as Ezekiel was told to prophesy over the dry bones and the breath of God once again caused them to live! (Ezekiel 37:9-14). Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord God; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army. Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts. Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. And ye shall know that I am the Lord, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the Lord have spoken it, and performed it, saith the Lord.
This world has a pull on many for more houses, best car for show, huge bank accounts, but all this is to set up in a place that is not our eternal home. Moses could very well of continued in the life he was placed in as Pharoahs son but chose to suffer affliction with the people of God. (Hebrews 11:23-26). By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king’s commandment. By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.
There is not one person on the face of this earth that does not suffer, but to endure it because we have chosen to follow Christ makes the difference as eternity awaits the people of God. (2 Chronicles 7:14). If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
