The division of nation’s
It is written there is only one Lord, one faith, and one baptism, so how did division of different denominations come about? ( Ephesians 4:3-6 ). Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
We must first look at the word denomination to find the answer. Many know the word NOMINATE: To Appoint, To Designate, To Elect, To Give Honor To. And the de which goes before many words and explains when placed before nominate causes the division. DE: To Do The Opposite, To Reverse, To Remove, The Removal Of A Specified Element.
DENOMINATION: A form of division among a people, or the separation of an important part of a total teaching or unit.
Jesus taught that there be no divisions within the church, as we are to be in unity and of the same mind. (1 Corinthians 1:10). Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. We see that man has taken it upon himself to separate from the truth by setting up many denominations which confuse those who are searching for the truth. No matter what tradition of men’s names are across the nation God remains undivided!
As we read previously there is only One Lord =The Lord Jesus Christ. One Faith = The trust (Faith) in Jesus Christ and One Baptism = The Baptism of the Holy Spirit which Jesus promised he would sent to all who obey and believe. (2 Timothy 2:19)…(Acts 2:38,5:32,11:16).
Traditions of men make void the word of God, and as many stay close to their denominations, there are still those who will keep searching and God will be found of them! (Isaiah 43:10-12) Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I, even I, am the Lord; and beside me there is no saviour. I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, that I am God…..(Jeremiah 29:13).
We need to remember God has even said his ways are not our ways, and Jesus did not teach only on Sunday but daily, and even on the Sabbath which is not what the people have been taught. He did not go into the synagogue’s (church’s) of his day to listen to what they had to say, but to teach his Fathers word which they had changed. He was not accepted then and sadly his truth is not accepted now. (John 9:16).
Lets not keep God in a box on Sunday, for he taught on a daily basis and everywhere people would listen! On A Ship……..(Luke 5:3) Outside along the sea…….. (Mark 2:13).
I SPOKE OPENLY TO THE WORLD; I EVER TAUGHT IN THE SYNAGOGUE, AND IN THE TEMPLE, WHITHER THE JEWS ALWAYS RESORT; AND IN SECRET HAVE I SAID NOTHING. WHY ASKEST THOU ME? ASK THEM WHICH HEARD ME, WHAT I HAVE SAID UNTO THEM; BEHOLD, THEY KNOW WHAT I SAID. (jOHN 18:20,21).
He is still speaking to his people, are you listening? (Hebrews 4:7)……………………….
