God shows the extent of His love in the person of Christ the one who is the propitiation for our sins. Jesus is the Shepherd of the sheep who will only follow the voice they know as His and not follow a stranger. (John 10:1-5). Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.
Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world, and is the only Lamb in revelation who was slain to receive power, and riches and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory and blessing! (Revelation 5:12-14). Therefore He is more than able to care for all who trust in Him, and we are to cast our care upon Him for He truly does care for us. (1 Peter 5:6-11).
Out of love Christ died for us, and for this act of love we as Christians live our life by the faith we place in the Son of God. (Galatians 2:20). I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Before we come to Christ we lived in disobedience and served various lusts and maybe were even hateful, but by the love and kindness of our Saviour are we saved by His mercy. (Titus 3:3-7). For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
