Our Lord accomplished so much at the cross, and even though He died it opened the doors of heaven as He tasted death for us all and was resurrected unto eternity to live and never again see death. May the faith we keep in Him allow us to also have the resurrection power over death as promised (Philippians 3:8-12). Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
By turning from the sin that so easily besets us we are reconciled unto Christ, and are no longer destined to die but live in eternity as we see Jesus taught us in the gospel of John. (John 5:24-29). Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
One of the most wonderful examples we have been given of the power of His resurrection is when Jesus tells Martha that He is the resurrection! What a moment in time to suffer the loss of her brother and then after he was in the grave for four days walk out of it and live again!(John 11:21-27,39-45).
