“A Time Of Testing”

The trying of our faith

It seems when we are feeling strong and troubles are less we think we can do anything, but why is it we ask God to send us and we will fight the good fight of faith only to be faced with tragedy or grief and ask where is God?

It is at the low times of our life we truly learn the flesh is weak, and the spirit of God is strong! The battle is not ours but is Gods when it comes to dealing with the wicked and godless. David was well aware that in his own strength his enemy would be overwhelming, but surrendering to the Lord his strength the mountains of his life would be moved out of the way (Psalm 18:1-6).  I will love thee, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid. The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me.In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.

Those who have gone before us were no different than us in asking God if He really did hear them as we see with Gideon when he said to God if Israel was to be saved by his hand would He cause fleece he would put on the floor to be heavy with dew yet the earth around it stay dry, and to his amazement God did so (Judges 6:36-40). 36 And Gideon said unto God, If thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said,37 Behold, I will put a fleece of wool in the floor; and if the dew be on the fleece only, and it be dry upon all the earth beside, then shall I know that thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said.38 And it was so: for he rose up early on the morrow, and thrust the fleece together, and wringed the dew out of the fleece, a bowl full of water.39 And Gideon said unto God, Let not thine anger be hot against me, and I will speak but this once: let me prove, I pray thee, but this once with the fleece; let it now be dry only upon the fleece, and upon all the ground let there be dew.40 And God did so that night: for it was dry upon the fleece only, and there was dew on all the ground.

We must rely on total faith in the midst of the storms of this life where we are never alone as Jesus said:”I will never leave you nor forsake you”, and we shall not fear what man will do unto us in his evil deeds away from God. It is not the wicked who inherit the earth for they will be rooted out of it and only good will remain (Hebrews 13:5,6),Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.  (Proverbs 2:21-22).

We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us!

(Jeremiah 20:11-13) 11 But the Lord is with me as a mighty terrible one: therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail: they shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not prosper: their everlasting confusion shall never be forgotten.12 But, O Lord of hosts, that triest the righteous, and seest the reins and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them: for unto thee have I opened my cause.13 Sing unto the Lord, praise ye the Lord: for he hath delivered the soul of the poor from the hand of evildoers.
