The wicked do not regard God and they break His people by slaying the widow and the stranger.God considers them fools who are unwise to follow after righteousness and think He does not see their ways!God will give His people rest in the days of adversity, til the pit is digged for the wicked therefore we can rest in Him(Psalm 94:1-15). O Lord God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself.2 Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: render a reward to the proud.3 Lord, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph?4 How long shall they utter and speak hard things? and all the workers of iniquity boast themselves?5 They break in pieces thy people, O Lord, and afflict thine heritage.6 They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.7 Yet they say, The Lord shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it.8 Understand, ye brutish among the people: and ye fools, when will ye be wise?9 He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?10 He that chastiseth the heathen, shall not he correct? he that teacheth man knowledge, shall not he know?11 The Lord knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.12 Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Lord, and teachest him out of thy law;13 That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked.14 For the Lord will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.15 But judgment shall return unto righteousness: and all the upright in heart shall follow it.
When we suffer for Christs’ sake the time does come when we ask God how long Lord before you execute judgment on those who persecute us?(Psalm 119:84-93). 84 How many are the days of thy servant? when wilt thou execute judgment on them that persecute me?85 The proud have digged pits for me, which are not after thy law.86 All thy commandments are faithful: they persecute me wrongfully; help thou me.87 They had almost consumed me upon earth; but I forsook not thy precepts.88 Quicken me after thy lovingkindness; so shall I keep the testimony of thy mouth.89 For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven.90 Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth.91 They continue this day according to thine ordinances: for all are thy servants.92 Unless thy law had been my delights, I should then have perished in mine affliction.93 I will never forget thy precepts: for with them thou hast quickened me.
In revelation we learn when the fifth seal is opened that under the alter there are soul’s of those who were slain for the word of God and for their testimony asking how long,O Lord, before their avenged of their persecuters?(Revelation 6:9-11). 9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.
