Our Lord has said He would never leave us nor forsake us. Jesus did not have a fearful spirit within Him, and we learn this in the lesson of when He stilled the great tempest in the sea! While the disciples were overtaken by fear believing they were about to perish, we find in the midst there is Jesus sound to sleep. ( Matthew 8:23-27 ). 23 And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him. 24 And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep. 25 And his disciples came to [him], and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish. 26 And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. 27 But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!
Jesus knew and those who have complete trust in God will be kept in perfect peace by keeping our minds focused on Gods promises. ( Isaiah 26:3,8,12,13 ).
When we have fear misplaced it can be detrimental to our health, but when we fear God and not circumstances it is then we can move the mountains in our life! ( Matthew 21:18-22 ).
The spirit of the world will keep one in bondage to the circumstances that surround them, but there is liberty in the spirit God has given to His people. ( 2 Timothy 1:7 ).
