When we repent and turn to the Lord He is faithful to forgive us. Little do we know the difference that takes place within us is sometimes not accepted by others, but we must never be ashamed of the gospel of Christ(Romans 1:16,17).
Our Lord knew He was to be rejected and then raised on the third day. He said when He returns in His glory He will be ashamed of those who are ashamed of His words. How can we be ashamed of the one who died to give us life, yet sadly many are(Luke 9:23-27) 23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. 24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. 25 For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away? 26 For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father’s, and of the holy angels. 27 But I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God.
People will make you think you don’t know what your talking about when you share the gospel, but we cannot forget “The wisdom of this world is foolishness to God” and they stand for that.(1 Corinthians 1:20-31).
Some may take your good conversation in Christ as being evil, but we know it is an honor to suffer for His sake(1 Peter 3:14-17) 14 But and if ye suffer for righteousness’ sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled; 15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: 16 Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ. 17 For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.
8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed (Romans 10:8-11).
