Our instruction book for life

There are a myriad of books written with some having very good advice, yet there is one that instructs us in this life and the one to come called the bible. This instruction book surpasses them all, as it gives answers we need for our life!(2 Timothy 3:15-17) 15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

There is a wealth of information we can apply to our life, and for those who have eyes to see and ears to hear scripture gives us instructions not even money can buy (Psalm 32:7-11) 7 Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah. 8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. 9 Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee. 10 Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall compass him about.b11 Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.

It is good for us to want to be directed in our life of that which keeps on on the right path and honors God. We despise our own soul if we refuse such wisdom (Proverbs 15:31-33) 31 The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise. 32 He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding. 33 The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.

God loves us so much He saw to it that we are taken care of in this life as we are sealed with the holy spirit, a spirit which guides, directs and instructs us in the word for our protection!

  1. Great post as usual.
I have often thought about the person who is wise in their own eyes and doesn’t believe in God or the Bible. My thought to them is, OK what are you basing this belief or non-belief of yours on? You’re only limited understanding within your finite mind or some university education you’ve had or somebody’s opinions that you value? Wouldn’t it behoove you to at least read the Bible through once just at the outside chance you might be wrong and if there is an eternal damnation. And hey, if you’re still stuck in your unbelief, at least you can base it on the fact that you read the Bible and have personally discredit it yourself. To do otherwise and not read through the Bible would have more blind faith in your own opinion than probably what I do have in my Savior… Amazing, the blindness and obstinance – that’s an extraordinary gamble!

    • WOW! Your comment has captured the mind of the athiest very well here. Everything you wrote surely are questions that should be asked of the one who discredits the Holy word of God. I love this line of yours “Wouldn’t it behoove you to at least read the Bible through once just at the outside chance you might be wrong and if there is an eternal damnation”. Very well written. Thank you for this. Stay strong in Him.
