God, The Great I AM

There are two mere words God has shown His power in the earth through all generations, and when Moses was before the children of Israel he asked God what is the name of who has sent me? And God replies “I AM THAT I AM” has sent you! (Exodus 3:13-15) 13 And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them? 14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. 15 And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.

The great I AM is all any one of us will ever need throughout our life. Scripture gives us many examples of how God is always with us, and the power He has in the changed life of the believer. Here are a few examples of who The Great I AM is taken from the book of Isaiah.

1.) (Isaiah 41:8-13) But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend. 9 Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away. 10 Fear thou not; for I AM with thee: be not dismayed; for I AM thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. 11 Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish. 12 Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought. 13 For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.

2.) (Isaiah 42:6-9) 6 I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles; 7 To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house. 8 I AM the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images. 9 Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.

3.) (Isaiah 43:10-13) Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I AM he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. 11 I, even I, I AM the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour. 12 I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, that I AM God. 13 Yea, before the day was I AM he; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who shall let it.

Even our Lord and Saviour who was God in the flesh and walked among men said: “ Jesus saith unto him, I AM the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

  1. Never! I remember atone I was surrounded by many but was alone at the same time! Praise the good Lord that will never happen to me again! 🙌

    • Yes! It is the lonliest time to be in a room full of people yet we feel alone. Praise God we are never without one who walks with us when we’re in the Lord. God Bless you.
