FORGIVENESS

Some people believe forgiveness is not that important and are perfectly happy going through life holding a grudge against another no matter who it is being family or friend (James 5:7-11) 7 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. 8 Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh. 9 Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door. 10 Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience. 11 Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.

We think God is obligated to forgive us for our sins, yet it is somehow different between us and another which is just not true. Our Father in heaven has given us the ability to forgive which in the flesh may be impossible. Paul taught us the valuable lesson how by ourselves alone we cannot forgive, but in Christ it is possible! (2 Corinthians 2:10,11) 10 To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ; 11 Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

For those who take lightly it is no big deal to not forgive someone we must keep in mind no one here lives forever unless they are in Christ, and at the last day when we stand before God In Jesus own words said (Matthew 6:14,15) 14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: 15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

If you are fortunate enough to have people in your life who have a forgiving heart, you are most truly very BLESSED!

  1. Jesus died for us so that we may be forgiven- we have no right not to forgive others!!!
    Great post! Glory to God!!!

    • You are so right we think forgiveness is for other’s to do when we need it, but it sure frees us when we do and especially if we forgive ourselves so we don’t carry it around. Stay strong in the Lord.
