The accuser of the brethren

Being falsely accused as a christian is nothing new, and when we are aware of satan who is the enemy of the christian soul we know it is just a matter of time before he strikes our good conversation in Christ! (1 Peter 3:14-18) 14 But and if ye suffer for righteousness’ sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled; 15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: 16 Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ. 17 For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing. 18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit.

Jesus was all too familiar with the accuser of His soul, as we see when He went into the temple on the Sabbath and there was a man with a withered hand which Jesus healed and it upset the Pharisees and immediately accused Him how unlawful it was for Him to heal on the Sabbath (Matthew 12:9-16) 9 And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue: 10 And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him. 11 And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out? 12 How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days. 13 Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other. 14 Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him. 15 But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all; 16 And charged them that they should not make him known.

There will be those who are motivated by the devil Himself parading as wolf’s in sheeps clothing, believing they are not being seen for who they are. It is people like this who make it their sole purpose to destroy a child of God and we must remember God is on the throne and is well aware of their antic’s for there are 7 things God hates and the ones who spend their time sowing discord among brethren fall on this list which is not good to be on if you truly love God! (Proverbs 6:16-19) 16 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: 17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

Our power and strength in this life is found in the shed blood of Christ, and the day will come when satan will be cast into the lake of fire where he and all false prophet’s will be sent! (Revelation 12:10-12) 10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. 12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. (Revelation 20:10).
