Too many churches are only teaching the “God is love” message, and completely leaving out there are also things He hates as well. Whatever happened to the preachers of yesteryear who were not afraid to preach the full gospel called the fire and brimstone preachers? By teaching a lopsided message people remain in their sin, and the fear of God is not in the heart’s of men. There is no consequence for sin when all people hear is God loves you no matter what. If preacher’s use the word hate attached to God they would be frowned upon, yet does not God Himself say He is a Jealous God who loves those who love Him and visits those who live in iniquity and hate Him unto the third and fourth generation? (Exodus 20:4-6) Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

 The emotions of God are no different than our own. Just as there are things we love and hate, so it is with God. Scripture clearly outlines even what God hates, yet you would rarely hear this message coming from the pulpit’s of the world. (Proverbs 6:16-19) These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

 The world needs a healthy dose of the fear of God! We need to learn what it is that God loves and hates so that we may serve Him the way He expects us to. God loves us so much He sent His only begotten son to free man from the bondage of sin, but unless people learn the full gospel people will remain in their sin. Part of the problem is the church today is far from the original early church we read of in the book of Acts where they came together daily and not once a week as we see today. Just as we do not eat once a week, we as christians partake of the word daily as Jesus taught us in the prayer He gave “Give us this day our DAILY bread”. The original church was added to daily and not weekly (Acts 2:46,47) And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
