A false teaching……… Be saved without repentance

There is a false teaching today that God will form Christ in a person that has not repented of their sin. How absurd is this teaching to say we can live our life without repenting of our sin and God will form Christ in us. As scripture says they take the word of God and twist it to their own destruction and sadly those who believe this will perish thinking they were saved ( 2 Peter 3:16).

Scripture teaches Christ cannot be formed in us unless we repent! God Himself says He wants no one to perish but that all come to repentance ( 2 Peter 3:9-11) The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Some sadly are teaching it is God who causes someone to be born again of His Holy Spirit as though there is nothing a person needs to do. We find the answer in the book of Acts that there certainly is something we need to do on our part to receive the Holy Spirit when Peter preached his sermon at Pentecost and was asked the question “What must we do?” Peters reply answers what a person needs to do to receive the Holy Spirit! (Acts 2:37,38) Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

There have always been false teachers, and the closer the day comes to the Lord returning satan knows he has a short time and will work through those who are willing to teach his false doctrine. BEWARE! (2 Peter 2:1-3) But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

  1. You are exactly correct Julia, HE wants all to come to repentance just as the Scripture in Peter says. The problem however, is that a lot of people think repentance is something they accomplish or must accomplish. It is a “changing of the mind, the heart” and that is worked by GOD himself. “Godly sorrow worketh Salvation” because GOD is the one who does it. I don’t believe for one moment that a man without GOD somewhere inside would ever come to JESUS of their own free will. GOD affects, prods them until their minds (their hearts) are changed. This is why JESUS said to Saul before on the road “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.” Great post and GOD BLESS

  2. “Cheap grace means grace as a doctrine, as principle, as system. It means forgiveness of sins as a general truth; it means God’s love as merely a Christian idea of God. Those who affirm it have already had their sins forgiven. The church that teaches this doctrine of grace thereby conveys such grace upon itself. The world finds in this church a cheap cover-up for its sins, for which it shows no remorse and from which it has even less desire to be free. Cheap grace is, thus, denial of God’s living Word, denial of the incarnation of the word of God.

Cheap grace means justification of sin but not of the sinner.”

  3. Those false teachings are the Babylon we’re called to come out of. Commonly referred to as the third angle message (Rev.14:6-12), it is the message for today. Note in verse 11, it is the smoke (evidence) of their torment that ascends for ever and ever, not the torment itself. (Zec. 13:9, Rev. 16) LOLGB+

    • You are spot on “It is the smoke of their torment that ascends, and not the torment itself”. How many miss important meanings as this, and others scripture as well. Stay strong in the Lord.

      • True but sad. I think therein lies the difference in just reading and studying the Scripture of Truth. Details are often overlooked. Catching up on e-mail from those I follow on Word Press. Been unusually busy this week on news and writing. LOLGB+
