God is not a religion or denomination

When we look at all the different religions, each with their own beliefs, how then can they all be right if they differ? The truth is they can’t for there are not many ways to God, but only one way. This way is through Christ and not an organized religion or denomination, but by His spirit (Acts 4:11,12).

Did you know the word denomination means “Division”, yet scripture teaches we are to have no divisions in the body of Christ as believer’s, yet this does not stop the world from constantly raising up new religions in the earth, is it any wonder Jesus said He was not of the world for there is so much confusion (1 Corinthians 1:10).

SO WHERE IS THE TRUE CHURCH OF GOD?

The church Jesus spoke of is a spiritual church that would be built through the Holy Spirit which He promised to send when He returned to God the Father after His death. It is a church He purchased with His own shed blood!

At Paul’s departure he was highly concerned that when he left the truth he had taught the people of this spiritual church would bring in those who would be as grievous wolves, and they would draw these true sheep of Christ away from the truth which he warned the people about with many tears day and night. (Acts 20:28-38) 28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. 29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. 30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them. 31 Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears. 32 And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified. 33 I have coveted no man’s silver, or gold, or apparel. 34 Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me. 35 I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive. 36 And when he had thus spoken, he kneeled down, and prayed with them all. 37 And they all wept sore, and fell on Paul’s neck, and kissed him,38 Sorrowing most of all for the words which he spake, that they should see his face no more. And they accompanied him unto the ship.

God is a God of faith and not of an outward appearance as the world looks to. He is a God of the unseen and so is His church 1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). As the world worships what they can see and touch, we must remember Jesus said He was not of the world therefore neither are those who worship and serve Him in His spiritual church (John 4:23,24) 23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

The stones of Gods church are alive and living! Serving Him as the temple He made them to be, and as the world will always think you are suppose to go to church, we know we are to be the church Christ made us to be (1 Peter 2:4-10) 4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, 5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. 6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, 8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. 9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: 10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

God is omnipresent in the earth and cannot be contained with any building other than the temple of His people where His Holy Spirit dwells within (2 Corinthians 5:1-8)

48 Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet,49 Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest? 50 Hath not my hand made all these things? (Acts 7:48-50).

(1 Corinthians 3:16,17) …….. (Hebrews 9:11-15,24).

  1. Agree that we’ve shifted from God’s desire for us as Christians to the point where He wonders will He find FAITH on earth at His return (Luke 18:8). Yet we are admonished to not forsake assembling ourselves together especially in these last days (Hebrews 10:25). There’s value in coming together (NOT for religiosity but for exhortation, fellowship, spiritual growth).

    • YES! We most certainly are suppose to fellowship and not forsake the assembling of being a christian. The difference being the fellowship scripture is teaching is not that is has to be in a building for we the people are the temple of God. We assemble as believer’s through the Holy Spirit together in His truth. This is the diference between man’s religion and Gods true fellowship of His church. (John 4:23,24). be Blessed.

  2. The Greek term translated church means to be called out and the gathering together of the called out ones is for instruction and edification. The gathering together in small groups or large groups is by tradition only and not a requirement, however it was the custom which was done on God’s sabbath day. We are to walk with God daily in faith and honor of His commandments. Paul and the Apostles taught gatherings at the local synagogues every sabbath. Paul did not command gathering in any size of group, but the group was to be of the one faith once given. In Hebrew 10:22-25, we are told to not forsake the assembling together (as the manner of some), especially as the day of the Lord’s return nears, in extorting one another but to be continuously holding fast and not to waver. The good shepherd will gather and assemble his own at his coming. That will be the true church! That leaves the question of why so many “churches” of various denominations? LOLGB+
