God is not a respecter of persons and when one decides for themselves to depart from any wrong doing they immediately become as a prey to those who have not made that choice for themselves. (Isaiah 59:14-17). And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter. Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the Lord saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment. And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him. For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloak.
Jesus never stood and stomped his feet and said you have to listen to me, no he merely spoke his Fathers words whether people accepted it or not. And so will it be in the final end of days that people will see just who you stood for by the way you live and your example shown. (1 Peter 4:3-7). For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries: Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you: Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead. For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit. But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.
The worlds view of righteousness keeps with the law of men, but when we lose the weight of this material world Paul said it best that it is all loss to gain the excellency of the knowledge Christ and he is the only one who can give eternal life! (Philippians 3:7-10). But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
Our way in this life will one day end us at the door of life or death, and it is up to us to make the decision to follow after righteousness and therefore gain eternal life! (Romans 6:16-23). Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness. For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
So is it popular to follow righteousness? Not according to the worlds standards, but as our Lord said: ” If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.” (John 15:19) (John 17:16).
Amen… praise God that He called us to walk in His righteousness and works it out in us… it’s not in me or anyone’s nature to do or desire it… I.e. I’m not a sinner because I sin, I sin because that’s who I am, I’m a sinner, it’s my makeup, it’s who I am. What an incomprehensible and undeserved gift He’s bestowed on us… blessings to you Julia!
Yes! There are days I look up and say Father what a gift I have received to be called as your child to walk in your ways and not my own. Everything pales in comparison to the high call we have on our life Dear Friend. Blessings Always over you.
Julia
