This is a repost that bears repeating!
When we think of halloween what comes to mind is carved pumpkins, goblins, ghost’s,haunted houses, things spooky, witches and spirit’s. Many say it is just a fun time to dress up in costumes and a candy giving occasion BUT IS IT?………………..
When we compare what this time represents and what the word of God says it is pretty much black and white how scripture is light and hope for all of us while this holiday is of darkness and demon’s. As christians we are the children of light and do not take company with the darkness of this world, which before we had the knowledge of Christ were a part of (Ephesians 5:8-11) For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
At this time of year the talk of witches and demons are put in a light of something fun and harmless. Scripture does not take this lightly! At this time demons are spoken of as though they are fictional and fun,yet Jesus took them very serious as He casted them out of the people many times! (Mark 5:1-20).
Witches, witchcraft and even magic are not practices God is alright with and the following links explain what scripture teaches about it.

AS CHRISTIANS REMEMBER Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Thessalonians 5:5-9).
A very timely and much needed post; too many believers are lackadaisical over the dangers of Halloween.
Thank you Alan for your comment! Yes sadly there are too many accepting this dark event as a fun and harmless one. Be Blessed Always.

As a kid, I loved the candy part of Halloween, but it’s never been my favorite holiday. I could do without it myself. Celebrating demonic things doesn’t seem right. Why do we do it? I’ve pretty much ignored this holiday ever since my kids grew up.
There are so many reasons why people celebrate this dark time, the most important one is God and His truth is not in the forefront of their minds. God is forever searching for those who are seeking Him!(Psalm 14:2) The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. Blessings Always.

This pagan practice always reminds me of the story in 1 Samuel 28 between Saul and the witch of Endor. Things did not go very well after his encounter with the witch.
Exactly Chuck! Great point about Saul and the witch of Endor, which supports God is not fond of witchcraft or the dark side of things. Many Blessings.
