Jesus Teaching, Man’s Teaching (Part 2)

Paul who was called unto the gospel knew to preach as his Lord did which was out among the people, he was aware of the doctrines of men and how if he were to preach where Christ was named it was another foundation and not the sure foundation of his Lord (Romans 15:17-21) I have therefore whereof I may glory through Jesus Christ in those things which pertain to God. For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ hath not wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed, Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ. Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man’s foundation: But as it is written, To whom he was not spoken of, they shall see: and they that have not heard shall understand.

Lets not keep God in a box on Sunday, for He taught on a daily basis and not a weekly one, and everywhere people would listen to Him! From the multitudes on the hilltop to on a ship (Luke 5:3), and Outside along the sea (Mark 2:13) His teaching was never confined to a denomination, but where He was moved to teach the truth through the holy spirit as His people still do today!

He is still speaking to His people even now, but are we listening, or has our heart been hardened to His message? We have been given the example of the Israelites not being able to enter into Gods rest, just as today we too are unable to enter into His rest if we do not have faith when hearing the word of God! (Hebrews 4:1-11) Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest. Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

Unfortunately we see many who claim to be a christian yet continue daily in their sin, they are under the understanding as long as they attend a church their sin is unseen (2 Timothy 2:19) Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

If our Lord came back today would He find faith in the earth? Or as in His day would He have to cleanse the temple once again as people are still playing bingo, holding raffles and having Bazaars buying and selling in His name and not holding to the truth that we the people are the temple of the living God who stand without walls as our Lord taught of the temple of His body! (John 2:13-22),(1 Corinthians 6:19).

  1. I’ve often wondered at the fact that the commandment said “Remember the sabbath and to keep in holy, in six days thou shall do all thy work…” and not “Remember the sabbath and go to church for in six days you can….”. However, we are to walk daily in the Lord’s way.
