Innocent Blood

How many of us have had a neighbor or anyone for that matter who was so set on destruction to try their best and set you up, because it was fun for them and as a sport? They are so confident in thinking their evil deeds will follow through that they even invite others to be a part with them. The book of proverbs lets us know it’s not a good idea to go after innocent blood or take part with those who do. (Proverbs 1:11-18) If they say, come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause: Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit. We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil: Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse: My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path: For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood. Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird. And they lay in wait for their own blood; they lurk privily for their own lives. It truly is as a game to the wicked, but little do they know the cards are stacked against them.

The saying what goes around comes around is truly biblical and the justice the wicked get is their own actions returned to themselves (Obadiah 15) For the day of the Lord is near upon all the heathen: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head.

At times as we view others whose choice is not in line with what’s right, we can see that their life does not work out for their good and is attributed to their deeds. Even if we try our best to guide and direct them as to what will bring blessings to them we are laughed at and mocked. Eventually their way meets up with them (Isaiah 59:7-9) Their feet run to evil, and they make hast to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace. Therefore is judgment far from us, neither does justice overtake us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, but we walk in darkness.

Evil hates good, darkness hates light, ignorance hates wisdom and on and on it goes, But the Shepherd of our soul will see to it that if any innocent blood is fought against he will cut off the wicked that is preying upon them! (Psalm 94:21-23) They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood. But the Lord is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge. And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea, the Lord our God shall cut them off.

Oh dear people of the Lord never tire of doing that which is good no matter how unpopular it seems……We are just passing through this temporary place and our eternal home awaits us where there will be no more the wicked or evil that abides here on earth! (1 Corinthians 15:58) Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
