At times justice is blind

When looking at the statue of Lady Justice” which has a blindfold on and scales in her hand meaning she weighs justice and is not parcel to one side or the other, my mother would say she has a blindfold on because justice is blind in the courtroom and to the laws of God. Sadly I had to set in a courtroom yesterday as I saw her words come to pass on her own daughter as I am trying to help my sister who is now a widow. My sister was present in the courtroom by computer. She did yell once at the guardian who lies so much, and then remained silent. I asked her why didn’t she say more? In which she replied “Why say anything else seeing the way things were going and they were busy lying. They talk about me as though I am dead, and what I have said was twisted to make them look like they know what their talking about.” There is a young man who testified which she really likes, but as he was on board with adding to the lies it really hurt her to see him talk the way he did. Is it any wonder a woe is denounced on the makers and imposers of bad laws, whereby the poor and the needy, the widows and the fatherless are deprived of their right’s? (Isaiah 10:1,2) Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees, and that write grievousness which they have prescribed; To turn aside the needy from judgment, and to take away the right from the poor of my people, that widows may be their prey, and that they may rob the fatherless!

I believe there are others of you out there who are going through the same, as you are trying your best to help your loved one as well, so I have decided to repost the following:

“Comfort for the widow and the fatherless.”

God has a special place in His heart for the widow and the fatherless. The following passages show us the love and concern God has for those who suffer the loss of a loved one, leaving them a widow and children become fatherless.(Deuteronomy 10:17,18) For the Lord your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward. He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger, in giving him food and raiment. (Psalm 68:5).

The Lord executes justice for the oppressed and gives food to the hungry, and is very concerned for both the fatherless and widow (Psalm 146:7-10) Which executeth judgment for the oppressed: which giveth food to the hungry. The Lord looseth the prisoners:The Lord openeth the eyes of the blind: the Lord raiseth them that are bowed down: the Lord loveth the righteous:The Lord preserveth the strangers; he relieveth the fatherless and widow: but the way of the wicked he turneth upside down. The Lord shall reign for ever, even thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. Praise ye the Lord.

We find in the following passages that God truly loves the widow and the fatherless, and anyone who causes them to cry unto Him will not go unpunished! In the world we live in today we have in place laws that can appoint someone to care for our loved one who has become a widow or fatherless, we pray may those in place know the lives entrusted to them is a chance to care for one of His children and that they are not just an income or job. Those with evil intent for the widow will soon see the hand of God and His wrath upon them, as scripture confirms it! Just as what goes around comes around is true (Obadiah 15), God will see to it that the household of those who oppress the widow and fatherless will see the same fate will happen to them. (Exodus 22:22-24) Ye shall not afflict any widow, or fatherless child. If thou afflict them in any wise, and they cry at all unto me, I will surely hear their cry; And my wrath shall wax hot, and I will kill you with the sword; and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.

As christians God expects us to stand in the hedge for those who are being wronged and to seek His judgment in the earth. We are to plead for the widow and change our ways to do Gods will and not our own (Isaiah 1:16-18) Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

Although we have laws in place for the protection of the widow and fatherless, there will be times when family are lied about, so wrong judgment of the situation ensues. As christians we must remember that even our Lords words were misconstrued. He knew the harden heart’s of man as we see the time when they watched Him so that they could accuse Him of the good He was doing on the Sabbath for healing the man with the withered hand! He looked upon them with anger and was grieved just as He would be grieved today to see His children the widow and the fatherless treated wrong when they are in need of proper help! (Mark 3:1-6).

  1. Your commitment to seeking justice and supporting your sister in this challenging time aligns with the biblical call to stand for the vulnerable and to seek God’s righteous judgment. May your faith and efforts continue to bring comfort and strength as you navigate these trials.

    • Thank you Willie for such a kind and understanding comment. I agree we are to stand in the hedge for the less fortunate in this life. It has been difficult to say the least to fight for justice for my sister, but God gives me the strength to endure. I pray you will be Blessed for your understanding heart.
