Sin is the sting of death to our soul, but Christ tasted death for all mankind and conquered it! The victory is ours when we serve Christ. “So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord”.(1 Corinthians 15:54-58).
Christ our Saviour was spoken of by the Prophet Isaiah and how he would have the victory over death. It is through the veil that is over all people that could only be removed by Christ once and for all at the sacrifice of himself. “And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the veil that is spread over all nations. He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it. And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the Lord; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation”.(Isaiah 25:7-9).
PROPHESY FULFILLED! “Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; And having an high priest over the house of God”.(Hebrews 10:19-21).
When we repent and turn to Christ we are then baptized into his death and the gift of the holy spirit is given. (Romans 6:3-6). The life we live weighs heavily on where our soul will spend eternity. The words we speak also are taken into account as death and life are in the power of the tongue! “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof”.(Proverbs 18:21).
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. (Hebrews 9:27,28).
