Monday Mornings With Julia and CJ
We have been studying and trying to warn about the different religions, and even many in the Christian community who are participating in or are complicit in the minimalisation of God and the Deity of Christ.
There are so many prophecies in the Old Testament regarding the Messiah. And Christ filled every one. It starts in an overlooked prophecy in Genesis from God himself. Out of His mouth when he exiled Adam and Eve from the Garden. He told Satan “He will crush your head.”
There are many prophesies we read of in the old testament, and God who is faithful to His word has brought them to pass through the sending of His only begotten Son the Lord Jesus Christ! Here are just a few of the many our Lord has fulfilled.
Jesus declared the Son of God: Psalm 2:7….Fulfilled Matthew 3:17.
A virgin will conceive: Isaiah 7:14…..Fulfilled Luke 1:26,27,30,31.
He came to heal the brokenhearted Isaiah 61:1,2…..Fulfilled Luke 4:18,19.
He was hated without reason: Psalm 35:19…..Fulfilled John 15:24,25.
He was betrayed by a friend: Psalm 41:9…..Fulfilled Luke 22:47,48.
The resurrection from the dead: Psalm 16:10,Psalm 49:15…..Fulfilled Mark 16:6,7.
No one knows the trials and tribulations we endure while we live more than the Lord we serve. He suffered so that we may have life more abundant. There is no way to ever thank God for sending us His Son, but to live a life that honors Him is well pleasing in His sight.
Another prophecy in Genesis 17, Gods covenant with Abraham also a Prophecy spoken of by God himself, is also twisted and turned but Paul gives us a detailed clarification. You see this is where it gets very cloudy and is the most misunderstood and twisted. Islam claims this is speaking of Ishmael and Mohammed. It’s false. Paul chastised the Galatians for not realizing this. Galatians 3:16.
Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, and to seeds, as of many; but as of one, and to thy seed, which is Christ.
He also laid out in perfect integrity the case against Ishmael vs Isaac. Galatians 4:31
So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.
As I said all prophecies in the Old Testament were fulfilled by Christ. Even Daniel prophesied about Christ. Daniel 9:26. This is another prophecy that is often twisted.
The genealogy of Christ is carefully laid out in the New Testament. However one of the most often overlooked scriptures that proves Christ fulfilled the prophecies is in Luke.
And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him.
26 And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.
27 And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law,
28 Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said,
29 Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word:
30 For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,
31 Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people;
32 A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.
33 And Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him.
34 And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against;
35 (Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.
36 And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity;
37 And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.
38 And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.
And yet the blistering of doctrines of demons makes trivializing the Diety of Christ, making Him a mere Prophet gains momentum.
Islam even recognizes the virgin birth but they say Christ was a mere Prophet of which Mohammad is the greatest and last prophet. And Christ will bow to him and Allah and tell the Christians at His second coming that He didn’t die, we were lied to and kill all Christians who don’t bow and convert to Islam. You can’t make this stuff up. Think about it the next time someone tells you Jesus was only a prophet, and this even though you’re not an apologist needs no further study, no interpretation, and Peters words alone are enough. Matthew 16:16 Peter said “You are the Messiah.”
