The world has many voices of which direction one should follow, but we must ask ourselves is this of God or the worlds wide road which leads to destruction?
There are two distinct paths for us to follow which Jesus taught. The wide and broad way is found and followed by so many, yet there will be those who do find the narrow way which leads unto life! ( Matthew 7:12-20 ). 12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. 13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide [is] the gate, and broad [is] the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait [is] the gate, and narrow [is] the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. 15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither [can] a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Fortunately scripture teaches us what is of God and what is not, so there is not an excuse we can have to say we didn’t know. We have two clear examples. The first is how many will claim they have preached in the Lords name or did many wonderful works, but the Lord states in the book of Matthew if we live in sin and work iniquity He will say He never knew us. ( Matthew 7:21-23 ).
The second excellent example we are given is if we continue in our sinful flesh then death is our fate, and the good news is its up to us to turn things around as God says He wants no one to perish, but come to repentance. ( Romans 7:22- 25 ).
