God is not a respecter of persons

Our Father in heaven does not put one person over the other as more important in His plan. People on the other hand have no problem doing this (James 2:1-5) My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons. For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment; And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:  Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?  Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?

It is not good to disregard the ways man chooses in life as though all actions are equal. God does not like evil to be called good and vice versa (Proverbs 24:23-25) These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgement. He that saith unto the wicked, thou art righteous; him shall the people curse, nations shall abhor him: But to them that rebuke him shall be delight, and a good blessing shall come upon him. (Isaiah 5:20-23).

Esau learned the hard way when he forfeited his birthright for a bowl of pottage for his brother Jacob, and was not able to recover his blessing, he was having respect of persons because it was his brother! (Genesis 25:29-34) And Jacob sod (boiled) pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he was faint: And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom (Red)”. And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright. And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me? And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob. Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright. To have respect of persons is not good: for for a piece of bread that man will transgress. (Proverbs 28:21).

The fruit of righteousness in Gods eye’s is important to Him and we should seek to be at peace with others, but know also it is not possible at times if their spirit is set on not obeying God the Father. (Hebrews 12:14-17) Follow peace with all men. and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.

Did you know it is a sin to be a respecter of persons in the eyes of God? We are here to live in the will of God therefore if He is not partial then we too should not show partiality either. All have salvation offered to them equally and our appearance is not what God looks at anyways, but our inward man and who we are obeying.(James 2:7-9) Do not blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called? If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself , ye do well: But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.

The address of Moses holds true for our time as well when he was told to hear the causes among the brethren, and not to have respect of persons, and if anything is too hard to determine to take it to God and He will hear it and help in the decision. (Deuteronomy 1:16,17) And I charged  your judges at that time, saying, hear the causes between your brethren, and judge righteously between every man and his brother, and the stranger that is with him. Ye shall not respect persons in judgement; but ye shall hear the small as well as the great; ye shall not be afraid of the face of man; for the judgement is God’s: and the cause that is too hard for you, bring it unto me, and I will hear it.(Deuteronomy 16:18-22).
