A citizen of heaven

There is a city God has prepared for those who have lived their life for Him, and although we must make our journey through this life we will one day be a citizen of heaven (Hebrews 11:13-16) These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.

The address we live at now will never compare to the permanent residence a christian will reside at after a life of walking with the Lord. A city where God is not ashamed to be called their God where there will be no tears, sorrow, pain or troubles. A place where the eternal light of the Lord will shine, and never again will we see the night or any darkness!(Revelation 21:23-27) And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there. And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it. And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

We are instructed to seek Christ who is seated at the right hand of the Father, for as we live He is our true life (Colossians 3:1-4) If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
