Jesus has made it possible to go boldly to the throne of grace, and it is His grace that gives us help we need in our times of trouble and need. (Hebrews 4:15-16). For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
There was a time when the disciples argued who was the greatest, and Jesus taught them it is important to sit and eat at His table in His kingdom and that He was a servant among them. Then He said His Father appointed Him a kingdom, and He also appointed one to them and they would sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel. (Luke 22:26-30) But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve. For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth. Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations. And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me; That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel……. (Revelation 3:20,21).
Set before each of us is the race of life, while some will win their race through Christ others will have lost through wrong choices made away from God. Christ who is the Author and Finisher of our faith is now seated on the right hand of the throne of God! (Hebrews 12:1-2). Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
