When we learn and retain the wisdom of God, it allows us to ever stay on the right and good path! (Proverbs 2:6-9) For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints. Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.
How heart breaking it must have been for Moses to miss out of entering the Promised Land which was known as “The Good Land”. (Deuteronomy 4:21-24) Furthermore the Lord was angry with me for your sakes, and sware that I should not go over Jordan, and that I should not go in unto that good land, which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance: But I must die in this land, I must not go over Jordan: but ye shall go over, and possess that good land. Take heed unto yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of the Lord your God, which he made with you, and make you a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, which the Lord thy God hath forbidden thee. For the Lord thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.
Everything good comes from the hand of God and evil has no place in Him. (James 1:17) Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
It may seem black and white and very simple yet if one follows good they are of God and if evil they simply have not known Him. (3 John 11) Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.
When we come to the Lord we can be assured that He will begin a good work in us until He returns (Philippians 1:5,6) For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now; Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.
The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. (Nahum 1:7).
