Some will company with those on a wrong path or with fool’s who retain not knowledge, yet a prudent person will always use their wisdom to understand what is good and right. (Proverbs 14:6-9)A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth. Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge. The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit. Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour…….(16:20-22). He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the Lord, happy is he. The wise in heart shall be called prudent: and the sweetness of the lips increaseth learning. Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it: but the instruction of fools is folly.
There is another kind of prudence God views as haughtiness though, a worldly wisdom that is not His wisdom at all but a foolishness the world believes to be truth like to have a title or degree which is wisdom that will one day perish as we are told to gain knowledge of Him that is our saving grace for all eternity. There is nothing wrong with getting a degree, just do not think to gain so much wisdom of this life is all there is. (1 Corinthians 1: 18-21, 26-29). For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence.
We can surely thank the Holy Spirit of God for His discerning of what is right and wrong for our life, as it keeps us from any unforeseen evil! (Proverbs 27:12) A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished……. (John 16:13-15).
