” The Broken “

There is no one more broken than our Lord who was crucified and hung on a cross. It broke His heart at times when even after miracles shown there were still some who did not believe in the power of God. Even when He rose from the dead and appeared to Mary Magdalene who was instructed to go and tell the disciples their Lord had risen and they did not believe! (Mark  16:9-14)  Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils. And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept. And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not. After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country. And they went and told it unto the residue: neither believed they them. Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen….. (Luke 4:16-21)…… (Isaiah 61:1-3).

God no longer seeks the sacrifice of the shed blood of animals as He once did, but has sent His Son whose innocent blood was shed for the the remission of sins and is known as the Lamb of God. Now His sacrifice of the people is a broken spirit and contrite heart He will not deny! (Psalm51:14-17)  Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness. O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise. For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise……(Psalm 34:18,19).
