We are instructed not to enter into the path of the wicked, for as children of light the path of the just is as a shining light! (Proverbs 4:13-18), 13 Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.14 Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men.15 Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.16 For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall.17 For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence.18 But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. (Philippians 2:13-15).
Those who walk in darkness know not where they are going, and as Jesus is the light of the world we as His followers will believe in Him who is known as the light of truth (John 12:35-36), 35 Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.36 While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them. (John 1:1-5).
Jesus the light which shines in a world of darkness shined unmistakably around Saul(Paul) and those who were with him on the road to Damascus saw it as well(Acts 22:6-11).It is this light which shines within the believer and is the light of knowledge that is the glory of God!(2 Corinthians 4:3-10). 3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
