There is only one way any of us can take to be on the right path and that way is only found in Christ. When the man who was made whole upset the sadducees because many started to believe in the power of Christ, Peter who was filled with the Holy Spirit told them there is no other name under heaven whereby man can be saved. Jesus is the only path to heaven. (Acts 4:8-12). Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel, If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole; Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
In the book of John we learn Jesus is the light of the world! The word of God is as a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. (Psalm 119:105).
As Christians we know the chastening of the Lord is needful for our growth in Him even though it be unpleasant at times, and it is up to us through the word to help those who are weak and to walk on straight paths that will not cause others to stumble or not be healed. (Hebrews 12:11-14). Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed. Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
We can get caught up on paths that will cause us to take our eyes off of the Lord, and we are instructed to stay away from the path of the wicked. When we do what is just and right then our path is as a shining light which only gets brighter til Christ returns on the perfect day. (Proverbs 4:14-18). Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men. Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away. For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall. For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence. But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.
