What Lasts Forever

Nothing in this life lasts forever and Jesus taught us we should lay up for ourselves treasures in heaven where moth and rust cannot corrupt. It’s a matter of where our heart is for there is your treasure (Matthew 6:19-21). 19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Although cars rust and clothes wear out we can put our trust in the living word of God which gives us sound counsel and strength for this life and the one to come. If we are trained unto godliness and renew our minds in Christ then are we promised eternal life! (Ephesians 1:19-23). 19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

Life in Christ is unending and offers the believer life from death and damnation, and the best gift from God that this life could ever offer (Romans 6:17–23).
