Evil and righteousness are completely opposite one another, just as light (Knowledge) defeats the darkness (Ignorance).(John 8:12). ¹² Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

We get a clear picture of the power of darkness when Jesus was daily in the temple and not one laid a hand on Him, but when the time had come for the chief priests and elders who sought to take Him He said “Be ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and staves? When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness”. (Luke 22:52-53).

As christians we shine as a light in a dark place, and are offered the whole armour of God to defeat the darkness in the world! (Ephesians 6:10-17).
