The prince and god of this world

Scripture teaches there are lords and gods many among the people, and as christians we know there is only one God and that is God Almighty creator of heaven and earth! For those who do not believe the gospel of Christ they are blinded to the truth of the word by none other than satan who is the god of this world (2 Corinthians 4:3-6) 3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake. 6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

God has made man a little lower than the angel’s and has given him dominion over the earth. While man lives he does have the responsibility to choose the will of God over his life, and not be taken by the wiles of the devil who tries his best to tempt him. (Psalm 115:15,16) 15 Ye are blessed of the LORD which made heaven and earth. 16 The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD’S: but the earth hath he given to the children of men. (Psalm 8:4-6).

Before Jesus was crucified He taught that satan is the prince of this world and would be cast out, but He would draw all men unto Himself (John 12:26-32),(John 16:7-11).

Although God is over everything man is unfortunately influenced by the power of satan while he lives, and is taken captive by him unless we repent and believe the truth of the gospel (2 Timothy 2:24-26),

Praise God the day will come when satan is cast into the bottomless pit during the thousand year millennium, and finally into the lake of fire where death and hell will reside for all eternity!(Revelation 20:1-3,10,14).

May we use the armour God has provided to live our lives in victory in a fallen world (Ephesians 6:10-18) 10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.

12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! (Isaiah 14:12).
