We as christians know we do not stand alone in our own strength in any trial of our life, just as it was throughout every generation it is God himself that gives strength to the weary soul! He is the one who causes us to take a stand against any enemy and is the one who saves the soul of His anointed. (Psalm 20:5-9) We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the Lord fulfil all thy petitions. Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving with the saving strength of his right hand. Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright. Save, Lord: let the king hear us when we call.
In ancient days strength a lot of times was known by those who had many chariots, as seen of Solomon who had many (1 Kings 9:19,22) And all the cities of store that Solomon had, and cities for his chariots, and cities for his horsemen, and that which Solomon desired to build in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion. But of the children of Israel did Solomon make no bondmen: but they were men of war, and his servants, and his princes, and his captains, and rulers of his chariots, and his horsemen.
There is a great lesson found in Ecclesiastes that even though one is of high status as far as the world’s standard’s go, that God see’s to it the true kings in the earth are not one with entitlement at all but are the servants many overlook as being fit for God’s kingdom! This lesson was also taught by Christ. (Ecclesiastes 10:5-7) There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, as an error which proceedeth from the ruler: Folly is set in great dignity, and the rich sit in low place. I have seen servants upon horses, and princes walking as servants upon the earth.
The chariots of God is as an army of angels, they have always been with God from the very beginning and was at Mount Sinai where Moses received the ten commandments! (Psalm 68:17) The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels: the Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the holy place. (Deuteronomy 33:1-4) And this is the blessing, wherewith Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death. And he said, The Lord came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto them; he shined forth from mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of saints: from his right hand went a fiery law for them. Yes, he loved the people; all his saints are in thy hand: and they sat down at thy feet; every one shall receive of thy words. Moses commanded us a law, even the inheritance of Jacob.
God is ever present in the earth and the clouds are his chariot as he rides upon the wind! “Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind: Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire: Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever”.(Psalm 104:3-5).
