“The Banner”

Just as we fly a flag for our country,God in turn has his people raise a banner, because we fear him and the truth he stands for. “Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth”.(Psalm 60:4).

A banquet is an elaborate meal for many to partake of and alot of Christians know the passage of Psalm 23:5. “Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over”.God showers us with his love and the banquet is here on earth as we serve him and Eternally at the marriage supper of the Lamb! “He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love”.(Song Of Solomon).
It is said the battle is not ours, but the Lords and this is true for God’s sanctified ones are set to the battle for which they are called. “Lift up a banner upon the high mountain, exalt the voice unto them, shake the hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles.I have commanded my sanctified ones, I have also called my mighty ones for mine anger, even them that rejoice in my highness. The noise of a multitude in the mountains, like as of a great people; a tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together: the Lord of hosts mustereth the host of the battle”.(Isaiah 13:2-4).
When Hezekiah saw the king of Assyria Sennacherib coming to battle he then strengthened his army of captains and said: “Be strong and courageous, be not afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude that is with him: for there be more with us than with him: With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the Lord our God to help us,and to fight our battles. And the people rested themselves upon the words of Hezekiah king of Judah”.(2 Chronicles 32:7,8).

We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the Lord fulfil all thy petitions. Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed;he will hear him from from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand. Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.(Psalm 20:5-7).
