When God Is Among Us

Our life is a reflection to others if God is the center of it, or is it just a once a week visit to a building which bears the name Christ as the world flocks to. Do we fill our days with gossip about other people, as we smile and say we love those who we are destroying by using their lives as fodder to get the next juicy tidbit of information out? Do we worship God daily or weekly! Does our life show God is among us?

We can hear the word of God all day, but unless we understand it are we able to apply it to our life. In the parable of the sower we learn of the truth that satan really is as a lion seeking whom he can devour! There are so many reasons the word of God does not take root in our life, from the riches of this world which draws us away to being persecuted when we truly have God among us in our life!(Matthew 13:19-23) When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side. But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended. He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful. But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

When we truly hear the word of God it by no means stops the unrighteousness which surrounds us, nor does it keep us from the filthy communication spoken of by the wicked when it is near us. When we keep Gods word within our hearts and minds it protects and keeps us, just as Noah and Lot viewed the ungodly among them, we too are delivered if God is among us! (2 Peter 2:4-9) For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly; And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked: (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;) The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

We must stay alert to the fact that satan can turn himself into an angel of light, and use the gift of discernment so we are not taken in by the craftiness and devices of his will. It is then others will see and know God is among us when our life shows we are a vessel set apart for the service of God, and are not concerned to fit in with the world and it’s ways! (2 Timothy 2:15-26) Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some. Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work. Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

  1. I fear people have gotten so complicit to the complacency of misusing the currency of love far too easily in our current times, as if love were some fruit that grows abundantly on trees for anyone to pick for their one size fit all expenses without knowing the seed it stems from, how or more importantly why.

The Word of God was scribed with changing times in mind to earnestly look backwards and reflect on true path both in our hearts and days as a reminder to us of the true value of a moral love gifted from our soul with a divine purpose that withstands this worlds immorality of lost times within selfish-selves and taking true love for granted.

    • Love most certainly has become “just a word” people say without the weight of it’s true meaning that comes from a sincere and genuine heart. The pure love God created is definitely as you said: “a moral love gifted from our soul with a divine purpose that withstands this worlds immorality”

This world seems to of become a facade for the original plan God intended, and that is why the holy spirit keeps us in remembrance of what is true! Be Blessed My Friend.

  2. Amen to all of the above. The post and the comments. I especially liked “as we smile and say we love those who we are destroying” how very true those words are. They are driving the bus that runs over people and they don’t care who they hurt.
