In the beginning God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul (Genesis 2:7).
So how did man get separated from God in the first place? It was the free will Adam and Eve were given in th garden of Eden which set the stage for all humanity, but by the grace of God He sent His Son for our redemption. Generation by generation was the truth spoken through Moses to Elijah and the path back to God was ever before man!
We no longer have to wonder if God knows if we love and serve Him, because the following passages tell us He does! Our Lord (Yahweh) truly does know our heart’s and mind, and knows whether we are living for ourselves or for Him! (2 Timothy 2:19) Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
So many believe God is at their beckon call and only call on Him in times of need, but we must realize we have a huge part in our relationship with Him by repenting and returning to Him in faith (Hebrews 6:10-12) For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
Although many backslide into the old ways, we are instructed to make our calling and election sure by staying the course by doing Gods will and not our own. It is then our journey back to God is complete! (2 Peter 1:3-10) According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall.
