To be strong in the Lord warrants one to be in opposition at times, and even hated to stay stedfast as a believer in Christ. When we go through trying times it strengthens us so down the road we have the ability to help another for so is the whole calling of Christ. ( 2 Corinthans 1:3-7) Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ. And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation. And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation.
We are not suppose to exalt ourselves, but are to be humble and in due time it is God who will exalt us. If we stay stedfast in our faith our adversary (satan) will have no power over us and we are mindful our brethren are enduring the same fight of afflictions! (1 Peter 5:6-9) Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
It is at times easy to get discouraged in this life and we are to exhort one another daily, as we are considered partners with Christ and remain stedfast till the end. (Hebrews 3:12-14). Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end.
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. (1 Corinthians 15:58).
