Adversity is anything that is contrary to our well being. At one time or another each one of us will suffer adversity, but it is the difference of living a christian life will God give His people peace through any storm!(Psalm 94:12-19) Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Lord, and teachest him out of thy law; That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked. For the Lord will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance. But judgment shall return unto righteousness: and all the upright in heart shall follow it. Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity? Unless the Lord had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence. When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O Lord, held me up. In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.
When we stand on the promises of God it strengthens our faith, the word reassures us that God is faithful in all He says! Proverbs teaches us “If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small”(Proverbs 24:10).
We are never alone in this life if we are in Christ, and He knows all the adversities we encounter in our life (Psalm 31:1-7) To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness. Bow down thine ear to me; deliver me speedily: be thou my strong rock, for an house of defence to save me. For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name’s sake lead me, and guide me. Pull me out of the net that they have laid privily for me: for thou art my strength. Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O LORD God of truth. I have hated them that regard lying vanities: but I trust in the LORD. I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy: for thou hast considered my trouble; thou hast known my soul in adversities.
Although adversity comes from the hand of God, He sees to it we are not overtaken by giving us teachers to guide us and set us on the right path (Isaiah 30:20,21) And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner any more, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers: And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

Amen, I know I have had my fair share, but is was my trust in the Lord that got me through. Handling adversities is like lifting weights. It builds up strength in faith and trust.. LOLGB+ Philip
